Teams would have to wait in the hallway or wherever they ended up until the next turn. Does that make sense?

I am intern at a church this summer, and we are planning on playing this game tomorrow! How did you choose the number of steps each turn was? Thank you for this page, it has helped tremendously!

It totally depended on time. If you need the game to last longer, give the kids less steps during each turn. Need to move the game along? Lots of steps!

Hi there! I am so excited to have stumbled upon your blog, and this activity! I have a few questions as my middle school group is about to attempt this event in about three weeks oh boy….

What was your numbers ratio of students to teams? Specifically how many kids were on each team and what would you recommend as far as sizing up or sizing down? I know they would share how many spaces to move, but what was the creepy element?

Although a creepy soundtrack in the background might work maybe? Did the team enter the room, find the suspect or were they in an obvious spot?

OR did they enter the room and go immediately to the blue X and ask the suspect their questions from that place and then wait at that spot for further instruction? Was there a prize for the winning team?

What was it? I may have a couple more questions after meeting with my team, but regardless I am SO utterly grateful for your willingness to share this in great detail and your desire to answer further questions!!!

Honestly, it depends on the dynamics of your group. He spoke in really spooky voices. Teams had to reach the X in order to ask questions. Each suspect only knew the information from the cards they drew, and only the speaker knew the guilty suspect, room, and weapon.

I do rig some games that we play, but I wanted this one to be a surprise to everyone. Just depends on the game. I hope that helped answer some of your questions and would be happy to answer anymore you may have.

The cards are the same as the board game. One word per card, with each weapon, suspect, and room. First, do you have any suggestions as an alternative to announcing steps etc.

Second, did the event cost you anything, or was it just the cost of printing out the instructions, clue cards, etc.? Maybe having several adult leaders shout throughout the hallways? It can definitely be improvised.

If the kids can only get 2 pieces of information and the suspect had 3 did they have to leave the room then come back again?

This card help players to record their findings. When players find a suspect card, weapon card, or location card they can eliminate it off there case file as it is not one of the solution cards, because those are held by the host.

On the start of Go players race to find as many hidden cards as they can and eliminate any suspects, locations, and weapons as they can and preventing others players from getting to those cards first.

Eventually all the cards will be found, and players will want to see what the other players found so that they can continue to eliminate possibilities off there case files and try and win the game -.

Along with all the hidden suspect, weapon, and location cards there are also hidden play cards that players will find. There are eight different types of play cards that allow players to interact with other players in specific ways.

The eight cards are the;. Each of these cards allow players to interact with each other in fun, different ways. The rules of each card are described on the card. The Friendly Wager card is the only one that requires extra props - those would be six dice.

This card allows a mini game inside the game, but still simple enough it doesn't get confusing. The Sneak A Peek cards come in three different versions, each with it's own fill in the blank space - so you are able to create your own game rule, and change it each time you play the game.

Eventually while interacting with the other players using the game play cards, a player is going to eliminate all the suspects, weapons, and locations on there file case until they are left with the three that are the solution.

At this point that player would grab the Make an Accusation card that you place in a central location in the playing area for players to reach and call out there solution.

If they are correct they win the game! If they messed up somewhere or guessed in haste and didn't get the solution correct they are not allowed to make another accusation for 10 minutes - they can still continue playing the game during this time though.

If you have less than 8 you may want to take out some of the game play cards to meet the ratio. About 25 minutes before you need to game to end you should allocate at least an hour for total game play you can start calling out one of the suspects, locations, OR weapons that is NOT in the solution every 60 seconds.
